About Audrey

“I’ve been wondering why people do what they do since I was five years old. People interested me - always. As I grew, I began to wonder how we could struggle less, have more moments of peace, love deeper, stay connected and yet feel free. When I was courageous enough, I eventually committed to living those questions. Now I report and guide from the field.”

Audrey’s Story

Born in the inimitable Manhattan, Audrey spent much of her childhood on Eastern Long Island, on beaches, in forests, and in the local public library. Little did she know those early years in NYC, in mostly
unremembered city dwelling, had made an indelible mark on her. This was brought to life decades later when doing postgraduate work in London. She took to London like Dick Van Dyke to Cockney - with gusto, and a fair bit of humour.

Audrey studied at Tufts University, gaining her first interdisciplinary degree in a mix of Pre-Law and Social Psychology. She followed that up with research at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, before working for a couple years in legal research whilst stalling Law School.

Criminology linked her love of psychology and the law and Cambridge University called across the pond. She got her Masters and then moved to London, studying for a PhD while starting her consulting career at the Serious Fraud Office and a fellowship at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies. She stepped off the academic train at the eleventh hour, going into economic crime security consulting. A long and tangled road led her back to psychology, after 15 years of being a criminologist, then retraining as a therapist.

The first stage of Audrey’s therapy training reflected her interdisciplinary background with an integrative training bringing transpersonal, humanistic and existential theory together with Jungian, Psychodynamic and Gestalt modes of working.

This holistic approach laid the groundwork for Audrey’s body, mind, soul and spirit approach. Her initial client groups found her dealing with developmental and complex trauma, which taught her more about compassion and the complexity of the body/mind connection than she ever knew was possible.

She did further study and exploration into how emotional experiences impact both the brain and the body, dove into mindfulness, meditation, active imagination and guided visualisations. Then followed this up with the study into neuroscience and interpersonal neurobiology. Her current practice reflects a broad clientele bringing issues of - stress, stuckness, anxiety, fractured relationships, dissatisfaction with life, addictive or compulsive behaviours and feelings of failure and overwhelm, to name a few.

Audrey has trained counsellors for over a decade and regularly guest lectures trainees at pre and post qualification levels (4-6). Audrey works as a supervisor for integratively trained therapists, individually and in groups, both in person and via video.

Audrey also runs self development seminars and is a public speaker.

“Audrey is completely different to any other therapist I’ve worked with. She helps you arrive at answers yourself. She questions you thoughtfully and respectfully with a good dose of challenge. There is no bullshit.”
